Online Quran Tarjuma

Online Quran Tarjuma

Our online Quran Tarjuma course teaches the meaning of the Quran word by word, in Urdu, in live one-on-one Zoom classes for students who can already read the Quran.

Reading the Quran is the first step. Understanding what Allah is saying to you is the step that changes how you pray, how you live and how you raise your children. Allah says: “Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran so that you may understand.” (Surah Yusuf 12:2)

Why Learning Quran Tarjuma Matters

Many Muslims recite beautifully with correct Tajweed, yet have never understood the verses they repeat five times a day in Salah. Tarjuma closes that gap.

When you understand the Quran, Salah stops being a routine and becomes a conversation. Verses about patience, gratitude and mercy start to speak to your daily life. Many of our students say their real bond with the Quran began not when they learned to read it, but when they finally understood it.

Tarjuma also protects you from misunderstanding. A verse taken out of context, or read only through a translation app, can easily be misread. Learning word by word with a qualified teacher means the meaning you take away is accurate.

Why Students Choose Us for Tarjuma

Most students follow the same path. They learn Noorani Qaida, then Quran reading with Tajweed, and once they read fluently, one question follows: “But what does this actually mean?”

That is where many courses stop. Ours begins there.

Families across the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and the Middle East tell us the same thing. They did not want another reading class. They wanted a teacher who could explain the Quran in the language they think in: Urdu, with English for students who need it.

Our Online Quran Tarjuma Course

The course is one-on-one and teaches the meaning of the Quran in four stages:

  1. Salah Surahs first: Al-Fatiha and the short Surahs you recite every day, so you understand your prayers within weeks.
  2. Word-by-word Tarjuma: each Arabic word is translated on its own, so you start recognizing words wherever they appear in the Quran.
  3. Full-verse meaning: words are joined into the meaning of the whole verse, in natural Urdu.
  4. Brief context: where it helps, your teacher adds a short note on why a verse was revealed. Full explanation is the job of our separate Tafseer course.

Classes are live on Zoom, one teacher to one student, so the pace is set by the learner. Teachers adjust their examples for children, teenagers and adults.

See How Word-by-Word Tarjuma Works

Here is Surah Al-Ikhlas as you would learn it in class, word by word, with the Urdu and English meaning:

Verse 1: قُلْ Ω‡ΩΩˆΩŽ Ψ§Ω„Ω„ΩŽΩ‘Ω‡Ω أَحَدٌ

  • قُلْ (qul): کہہ Ψ―ΫŒΨ¬ΫŒΫ’, say
  • Ω‡ΩΩˆΩŽ (huwa): وہ, He
  • Ψ§Ω„Ω„ΩŽΩ‘Ω‡Ω (Allahu): اللہ, Allah
  • أَحَدٌ (ahad): ایک / یکΨͺΨ§, One

Verse 2: Ψ§Ω„Ω„ΩŽΩ‘Ω‡Ω Ψ§Ω„Ψ΅ΩŽΩ‘Ω…ΩŽΨ―Ω

  • Ψ§Ω„Ψ΅ΩŽΩ‘Ω…ΩŽΨ―Ω (as-samad): Ψ¨Ϋ’ Ω†ΫŒΨ§Ψ², the One everyone needs, who needs no one

Verse 3: Ω„ΩŽΩ…Ω’ ΩŠΩŽΩ„ΩΨ―Ω’ ΩˆΩŽΩ„ΩŽΩ…Ω’ ΩŠΩΩˆΩ„ΩŽΨ―Ω’

  • Ω„ΩŽΩ…Ω’ (lam): Ω†ΫΫŒΪΊ, did not
  • ΩŠΩŽΩ„ΩΨ―Ω’ (yalid): Ψ¬Ω†Ψ§, beget
  • ΩˆΩŽΩ„ΩŽΩ…Ω’ ΩŠΩΩˆΩ„ΩŽΨ―Ω’ (wa lam yulad): اور نہ وہ Ψ¬Ω†Ψ§ گیا, and was not born

Verse 4: ΩˆΩŽΩ„ΩŽΩ…Ω’ ΩŠΩŽΩƒΩΩ†Ω’ Ω„ΩŽΩ‘Ω‡Ω ΩƒΩΩΩΩˆΩ‹Ψ§ أَحَدٌ

  • ΩƒΩΩΩΩˆΩ‹Ψ§ (kufuwan): Ψ¨Ψ±Ψ§Ψ¨Ψ±, equal
  • Together: اور کوئی Ψ§Ψ³ Ϊ©Ψ§ Ψ¨Ψ±Ψ§Ψ¨Ψ± Ω†ΫΫŒΪΊ, and there is none equal to Him

Notice that أَحَدٌ (ahad) appears in verse 1 and again in verse 4. Once you learn a word, you start spotting it across the Quran. That is the real power of word-by-word Tarjuma: after a few months, many verses start to make sense even before your teacher explains them.

Tarjuma or Tafseer: Which Do You Need?

Tarjuma tells you what the Quran says. Tafseer explains why it says it: the reason a verse was revealed, the deeper meaning of its words and the rulings drawn from it.

Most students start with Tarjuma, because knowing the meaning of each word makes Tafseer far easier later. When you are ready to go deeper, move on to our online Quran Tafseer course.

Our Tarjuma Teachers

Teaching Tarjuma is a different skill from teaching recitation. A teacher can recite beautifully and still struggle to explain classical Arabic clearly in Urdu. So we choose Tarjuma teachers for their knowledge of meaning, not only their recitation.

  • Their Quran and Tafseer qualifications are checked against certificates before they teach.
  • They explain in Urdu, and in English for students who need it.
  • Their teaching is tested directly, so we know they can make meaning clear to a child and to an adult.

Female Teachers for Women and Girls

Many families want a female teacher for their daughters, wives or mothers. We have female Tarjuma teachers who teach one-on-one and privately on Zoom, with the same depth as our male teachers. Ask for a female teacher when you register. Read more about learning with a female Quran teacher.

Course Fee

The Tarjuma course costs $30, Β£30 or €30 a month. This covers 20 one-on-one classes a month, Monday to Friday, 30 minutes each. That works out to $1.50 per class.

Living somewhere else? Message us and we will share the fee in your local currency. See the full fee plan and our refund policy.

How to Start

  1. Book a free trial class. Tell us your level, your language and the times that suit you.
  2. Meet your teacher. In the trial, your teacher checks your reading and picks the right starting point.
  3. Choose your plan. If you are happy, pick your timings and start regular classes.

You only need a phone, tablet or laptop with Zoom and a stable internet connection.

How Long Does Tarjuma Take?

It depends on how many days a week you study and how much you review. As a guide:

  • The Surahs you recite in Salah: a few weeks.
  • Juz Amma (the 30th part): a few months.
  • The whole Quran: usually 1.5 to 3 years with regular classes.

You start understanding your daily prayers in the first month. That is where most students feel the change.

What Our Students Say

“Living far from any Islamic center made this the right option. The teacher’s explanations of meaning, not just pronunciation, gave my study more depth.”
