Quran Teacher Sweden

Quran Pak Teacher teaches Muslim families across Sweden through live video lessons. Every teacher has memorised the full Quran. Lessons last 30 minutes, run Monday to Friday, and cost €30 for twenty lessons a month. We use Zoom or Google Meet. Your first lesson is free and we ask for no fees.

Lessons that fit the Swedish school week

Most families book between 16.00 and 20.00 Swedish time, after fritids and before bed. Pakistan runs ahead of Sweden, so a weekday evening slot in Göteborg falls in the morning for your teacher. That means the slot you pick stays open all year.

We plan around the school calendar rather than working against it. City of Stockholm sets höstlov in week 44 and sportlov in week 9 for compulsory schools. Sportlov shifts between weeks 7 and 10 depending on where you live, because the dates are staggered by region. Tell us your kommun and we hold your slot through the lov weeks or pause it, whichever suits you. We also adjust when the clocks move in March and October so the local time never drifts.

Ramadan in the far north

Ramadan in Sweden works differently from Ramadan in most countries, and few academies plan for it. During a summer Ramadan in Malmö, Isha falls after 23.00 and Fajr before 03.00. No child can sit a normal evening lesson on that timetable.

We move lessons to early afternoon or to the weekend for the whole month, and we agree the change with you in the weeks before Ramadan starts rather than scrambling once it has begun. Check your local mosque timetable for exact times in your city, since Kiruna and Malmö differ by a wide margin.

What €30 a month covers

Twenty lessons a month, five days a week, thirty minutes each, one student with one teacher. That works out close to €1.50 per lesson. We do not run group classes. You keep the same teacher each week, so your child never starts over with a stranger.

Fees are set in euro and paid through Western Union. At recent rates €30 sits near 330 kronor, though your bank sets the figure on the day and adds its own charge, so the amount on your statement will move a little.

Your teacher

Every teacher holds Hafiz or Hafiza status and teaches in English and Urdu. If you would prefer a female teacher for your daughter or for yourself, say so when you book and we will arrange it. Our teachers do not speak Swedish, so lessons run in English or Urdu. Many families in Sweden find that suits them, and it is better that you know before the trial than after.

Courses

Noorani Qaida teaches the Arabic letters, their sounds and their points of articulation. It is where a complete beginner starts, whatever their age.

Quran reading with tajweed covers the rules of pronunciation and pausing so that recitation is correct rather than approximate.

Hifz follows the traditional Sabaq, Sabqi and Manzil pattern of new memorisation, recent revision and long revision.

Tarjuma and Tafseer move from word by word meaning to the background of each passage.

Urdu is available for families who want their children to read it.

Where our students live

We teach families across Sweden. In Stockholm that includes Rinkeby, Tensta, Kista, Husby and Södermalm, where the mosque at Kapellgränd 10 stands beside Björns trädgård. In Göteborg it includes Angered, Hjällbo and Bergsjön. In Malmö it includes Rosengård and Husie, near the mosque on Jägersrovägen that opened in April 1984 as the first purpose built mosque in Scandinavia.

We also teach students in Uppsala, Västerås, Örebro, Linköping, Helsingborg, Jönköping and Borås. Online lessons sit alongside your local moské and helgskola. They are not a replacement for either.

Safety and parent access

You may sit in on any lesson, at any time, without telling us first. We ask that younger children take their lessons on a device in a shared room. Lessons run on Zoom or Google Meet, which you control. You can pause or stop at the end of any month by sending one WhatsApp message.

We teach online only. We hold no premises in Sweden. Our academy is in Lahore, and we have taught online since 2020, with students in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and Australia.
