There is no full time Quran teacher St. Kitts & Nevis parents can book locally, and the reason is arithmetic. The 2011 census counted 244 Muslims in a country of about 47,000 people. Most families in Basseterre and Charlestown already know every adult who could teach. If your child can reach the weekly class near Bath Village on Nevis, take it. A teacher in the same room beats a screen. Quran Pak Teacher is for the families who cannot get there.
Very small. The US State Department’s religious freedom report describes an Islamic Association active on Nevis. Wikipedia’s record lists two Islamic centres for the whole federation. The mosque on Nevis sits in Saint John Figtree Parish, a short walk from Fort Charles. On St. Kitts there is no purpose built mosque, so prayer happens in rented rooms.
This matters for parents. A child in Monkey Hill or Cayon may be the only Muslim pupil in their school. There is no Saturday madrasa on Fort Street. A family on St. Kitts cannot send a child across to the Nevis class each week, because that means the ferry both ways. Steady teaching has to come from somewhere else.
Our teachers work from Lahore, Pakistan. They teach in Urdu and English. They teach Hafs recitation, the reading used by most of South Asia and most of the Caribbean Muslim community.
One teacher stays with one student. You meet that teacher before you pay. Classes run on Zoom or Microsoft Teams, thirty minutes each, Monday to Friday.
If your family follows Warsh, common among West African Muslims, we are likely the wrong choice. We will say so rather than take the booking.
St. Kitts and Nevis uses Atlantic Standard Time all year. There is no clock change. Lahore runs nine hours ahead.
| Your time | Lahore time | Suits |

Morning slots suit children best. DataReportal puts internet use at roughly three quarters of the population, and Flow and Digicel both carry live video across Basseterre and Charlestown.
Six courses, taught live, one teacher to one student.
Noorani Qaida is where a child with no Arabic starts. Letters first, then joining them, then short words. Most children reach the end in four to six months. Adults often move faster.
Quran reading with Tajweed follows once the letters are firm. The teacher listens, stops the mistake as it happens, and has the student repeat it. This is the part a recording cannot do.
Hifz is memorisation with daily revision built in. We set a small daily target and keep the old work under review. Steady beats fast.
Tarjuma gives the meaning word by word, in Urdu or English, so the student knows what they are reciting.
Tafseer covers context: when a verse came and what it answered. Suited to teenagers and adults.
Urdu reading is for children born abroad who speak some Urdu but cannot read it. Useful where grandparents write in Urdu.
Full list on our courses page. Fees are published on the monthly fee page in dollars, pounds and euros: twenty classes a month, thirty minutes each. Three trial classes come first, no card details taken.
You are handing a stranger time alone with your child. That deserves a straight answer.
Every teacher is identity checked and reference checked before they teach. Parents may sit in on any class, announced or not. There is no private messaging between teacher and child. All contact runs through the parent’s number. If anything feels wrong, write to us through the contact page and a person will answer.
St. Kitts hosts a large international student population. Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, in Basseterre since 1982, has produced more than 3,800 veterinarians according to the government of St. Kitts and Nevis. The University of Medicine and Health Sciences is also in Basseterre. Windsor University School of Medicine sits in Cayon.
Many Muslim students arrive from Pakistan, India, Nigeria and the Gulf, far from any community. Adults start from the alphabet here regularly. Nobody else is in the room, and rotation weeks are worked around.
Three free classes, then you decide. Nothing is charged before that. Message us on WhatsApp or use the contact form, tell us the ages and the times that suit, and we will match a teacher.
For a family in Basseterre, Charlestown, Frigate Bay or Cayon, a Quran teacher St. Kitts & Nevis households can rely on is now a question of scheduling rather than distance.
There is teaching linked to the Islamic centre on Nevis. On St. Kitts, provision is informal and depends on who is available that year.
Fees are set in US dollars. The East Caribbean dollar is pegged at 2.70 to 1 USD by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, so the amount does not move.
