The Night of Isra and Miraaj
The Significance of The Gifts of Miraaj Night begins with the miraculous Isra Miraj Journey Ascension, a great miracle granted by Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ to the beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ. This Night marks a turning point in faith, where belief is tested and strengthened through a journey beyond human limits.
The Blessed Journey of the Prophet
During this blessed journey from Masjid Al Haram to Masjid Al Aqsa, and then through the skies above, the Rasool experienced Divine sight and conversation. This created a powerful Spiritual Connection and a direct link between the servant and the Lord, reminding believers of closeness to Allah.
The Three Profound Blessings Bestowed
On this sacred night, three profound blessings were bestowed: five daily prayers Salat, the last verses Surah Al-Baqarah final 2:285-286, and the promise forgiveness for the Ummah regarding major sins, excluding polytheism Shirk. These gifts form the core tenets faith practice Muslims and shape everyday worship.
The Central Gift of Salah
The gift Salah stands at the heart of Miraaj. Originally commanded fifty, the prayers were reduced to five, yet each carries reward ten, making them equal fifty in reward. This shows Divine Mercy, hope, reassurance, and boundless compassion for the believers.
Dialogue with Sayyiduna Musa
When the Prophet reached Sayyiduna Musa عَلَیْہِ السَّلَام, he was advised to return, ask, and humbly request decrease from his Rab, until only five left. This exchange teaches mercy, concern for the Ummah, and understanding human limits.
Responsibility Along with Mercy
Alongside mercy came responsibility: good deed virtue recorded, bad sin record, and intention written. Clear warnings were given about muqhimat and dangerous sins, reminding believers that accountability walks hand in hand with forgiveness.
Other Gifts for the Ummah
As reported by Abdullah bin Umar رَضِیَ عَنْہُمَا, the Prophet also received the concluding Ayahs Sura al-Baqara and assurance of forgiveness serious sins for the Ummah. This glad tiding explains purification, Paradise, and that believers will not remain in Hell forever.
