If you want to learn the Quran in Slovakia, whether in Bratislava, Košice, Prešov or Nitra, our online classes bring a Quran Teacher Slovakia families can trust into your home. At Islamic Quran Academy, every teacher is a Hafiz or Hafiza. Our courses cover recitation, Tajweed, memorization and translation, taught live on Meet or Zoom to men, women and kids. The fee is €30 a month, with three free classes first.
Slovakia’s 2021 census recorded 3,862 Muslims, though community leaders estimate about 6,000. The country is often called the only EU state without an official mosque, and a 2016 law requires 50,000 members before a faith can register, which keeps Islam unrecognised. Bratislava holds the largest community, gathered around the Cordoba Culture Center on Obchodná street, with smaller groups in Košice and Martin. In Žilina, Banská Bystrica or Trnava, finding a teacher in person is rarely possible.
A modern Slovak translation of the Quran (Korán) by Abdulwahab al Sbenaty, noted by the University of Freiburg’s GloQur project, helps readers with meaning. Reading the Arabic text aloud correctly still needs a teacher.
Classes are one to one lessons with personal attention, so nobody else shares your teacher’s time. A class runs 30 minutes on weekdays and can extend to 40. Saturday and Sunday slots help working adults, and missed classes are made up when you ask. We run online Quran classes for kids from age 4 and online Quran classes for adults, including university students living away from family in Bratislava or Košice. Explanations are in English or Urdu.
Eurydice reports that Slovak schools normally start at 8:00 with 45 minute lessons, so after school evenings are the usual Quran time. Bratislava is 4 hours behind Lahore in winter and 3 in summer. Once clocks fall back on 25 October 2026, a 5 pm Bratislava class becomes 9 pm in Lahore. During Ramadan, expected from about 8 February 2027, the sun sets in Bratislava between roughly 5 pm and 6 pm, so we plan classes around iftar.
Our online Quran academy runs these online Quran courses, and every one of our online Quran classes in Slovakia uses the same private format.
Beginners of any age use Noorani Qaida to master letter shapes and sounds. New Muslims in Slovakia start here, with every rule explained in English.
Tajweed classes train the tongue and throat to form each letter from its proper point, called Makharij. Adults who study five days a week often complete a first full reading in 8 to 12 months.
Hifz learners memorize the Quran a few lines at a time and revise yesterday’s lesson before starting today’s.
Pair recitation with Urdu translation or Tafseer to understand what you read.
For Islamic studies online, Slovak students learn everyday duas. Children of Pakistani families can take Urdu lessons.
Some women in Bratislava feel more at ease learning from another woman, and many mothers want the same for their girls. Ask for a Hafiza when you book, and she will teach all classes.
All our male and female teachers are Hafiz or Hafiza and teach the Hafs an Asim recitation from Lahore, Pakistan. Each learner keeps the same teacher, who knows their progress. The Quran says, “And We have certainly made the Quran easy for remembrance” (Surah Al Qamar 54:17). Read more about us.
The monthly fee is €30 for 20 private classes. You can book a free trial of three classes without card details. Fees are paid through Western Union, and the refund policy is on our site. Parent reviews are public too.
Message us on WhatsApp with the student’s age and city. Your teacher runs the three trial classes, checks the student’s level and suggests a course. You then fix a regular time in Bratislava time.
