Quran Teacher Spain

Find a Quran teacher in Spain for your child or for yourself. Quranpakteacher.com runs live one to one lessons over Zoom for families anywhere in the country. Teaching is in Urdu and English, with certified male and female teachers. Lessons last 30 minutes, five days a week, on Central European Time, with weekend slots available. The Europe plan is €25 a month for 20 lessons, which works out at €1.25 a lesson. You get free trial classes before you decide anything, and if your child misses a lesson we reschedule it.

Why families here look for lessons at home

The Union of Islamic Communities of Spain (UCIDE) reports in its Estudio demográfico de la población musulmana that 85 percent of Muslim pupils in Spain have no access to Islamic religion classes at school. In Catalonia the shortage is worst of all. UCIDE puts the ratio there at roughly one religion teacher for every 20,982 pupils.

Distance makes it harder. UCIDE counted 1,766 mosques in Spain at the start of 2025, but they sit unevenly. A family near Carrer de l’Hospital in El Raval can walk to the masjid in ten minutes. A family in Talayuela (Cáceres) or Albuñol (Granada) cannot.

Group classes also move at the pace of the group. A child who has fallen behind usually stays behind.

Urdu and English lessons for families in Spain

The Observatorio Demográfico of CEU CEFAS placed the Muslim population of Spain at 2.4 to 2.5 million at the start of 2025. Catalonia alone holds around 700,000 people, roughly 9 percent of the region.

Around 100,000 of them are of Pakistani origin, and most live in Barcelona, with El Raval and the neighbouring barris at the centre of that community. If Urdu is the language spoken at your kitchen table, your child can learn in it here. Explanations, corrections and questions all happen in the language they already understand.

We also teach fully in English, which suits second generation children in Badalona, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat or Salt who study in Spanish or Catalan by day but speak English comfortably.

Courses we teach

Beginners start with Noorani Qaida, which covers the Arabic letters and how to pronounce them. From there students move to Quran reading with Tajweed.

Students who want to memorise take Hifz classes, built on steady daily targets and regular revision rather than rushing ahead. Weekend slots suit families who want longer memorisation sessions without touching the school week.

Older students and adults continue to Tarjuma for word by word Urdu translation, or Tafseer for the meaning and context behind the verses. We also teach Urdu for children born in Spain who are losing the language, along with Kalima, Namaz, daily duas and Hadith.

Adults are welcome. If you want to learn to read Quran from scratch at 45, your teacher will not be surprised, and nobody else is in the room. Adults typically take six to eight months to read fluently.

Students who complete a course receive a certificate. Passing the Tajweed assessment and reciting accurately is required to earn it.

Female teachers for sisters and daughters

We hire certified female teachers so that sisters and daughters can learn in comfort. Ask for one when you first message and we will arrange it. Every class is one to one, so only your daughter and her teacher are present, and a parent is welcome in the room at any time.

What it costs

The Europe plan is €25 a month for 20 lessons, Monday to Friday, at 30 minutes each. Classes can run to 40 minutes where a student needs it. Class times around the Spanish school day

Some schools run jornada continua and finish around 14:00. Others run jornada partida and finish closer to 17:00. Tell us which your child attends and we book around it, including extraescolares. Weekend slots are available for families whose weekdays are already full.

If a lesson is missed, a make up class is rescheduled on request. In the Canary Islands, remember the clock runs one hour behind the mainland.
