Quran Teacher France

Quran Pak Teacher teaches Muslim families across France by live video. Lessons run 30 minutes, Monday to Friday, with a male or female Hafiz teacher. The fee is €30 a month for 20 classes. You get three free trial classes before you decide, and no card is needed to book them.

We have taught online since 2020 from Lahore, Pakistan. Our students live in France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, the United States and Australia.

Why finding a teacher in France is hard

Most Muslim families in France rely on weekend classes run by local associations. In Seine Saint Denis, Val d’Oise and the northern quarters of Marseille, those places fill within days of la rentrée. One teacher often sits with twenty children. Your son or daughter may recite for two minutes in a two hour session.

Then there is the travel. A family in Villeurbanne may cross Lyon to reach a class. A family in Roubaix may drive into Lille. If both parents work Saturdays, the class quietly stops.

We built our lessons around that problem. One teacher, one student, five short classes a week, at home.

The sounds French speaking children find hardest

This is where most children get stuck, and there is a clear reason for it. French does not contain several Arabic sounds at all. A child raised speaking French is not being careless. Their ear has never been trained to hear the difference.

• Haa and Ha both sound like silence: French has no H sound. A child in Paris hears the word “Hamd” as “amd” and notices nothing missing. We spend the first lessons on breath and throat before we name any rule.
• Ra and Ghain get swapped: The French R is made at the back of the throat, almost exactly where Ghain lives. Children carry that habit into Arabic, say Ghain in place of Ra, and sound confident while doing it. We train the tip of the tongue as a separate skill.
• The heavy letters flatten: French has no emphatic consonants. So Taw turns into Ta, Saad turns into Seen, Daad turns into Daal, and Qaaf turns into Kaaf. This is the most common reason a child reads smoothly but reads wrong.
• Ayn has no French equal: It is usually the last letter a French speaking student controls, and it takes time. We do not rush it.

Our method is to train the ear first: A student hears two letters side by side many times before we explain the rule behind them. Naming Makhraj and Qalqalah too early gives a child words without sound.

Class times that fit the French school week

About nine in ten French communes now run primary school over four days, so most children have no class on Wednesday. Wednesday morning and afternoon are our most requested slots for families in France.

School holidays also differ by zone. The official calendar set by the Ministry of Education splits the country into Zones A, B and C. Paris, Créteil, Versailles, Montpellier and Toulouse sit in Zone C. Lyon, Bordeaux, Grenoble and Dijon sit in Zone A. Aix Marseille, Lille, Nice, Rennes and Strasbourg sit in Zone B. Tell us your académie and we schedule around your zone rather than a general calendar.

Pakistan is three hours ahead of French summer time and four hours ahead in winter. Early morning and evening French slots fall inside ordinary working hours for our teachers, so those times hold steady over years rather than months.

Meet your teachers

Every teacher at our academy is a Hafiz or a Hafiza, which means they have memorised the whole Quran themselves under a teacher, over years. That is why they hear a wrong letter the moment a student says it.

We have both male and female teachers. Sisters and girls can ask for a female teacher when booking, and it is a normal request here, not one you need to explain. Our teachers work from Lahore and teach in English and Urdu. If your child is more comfortable in French, tell us during the trial and we will say honestly whether we are the right fit for you.

Your child also keeps the same teacher. We do not rotate students through a pool. After a few weeks that teacher knows which letters your child rushes, which ones they avoid, and how long they hold attention before the lesson needs to change pace. You will meet them in the first trial class, before you pay anything.

Your first three classes are free

Send a message with the student’s age and two times that suit you. We reply with a teacher and a time. In the first class the teacher listens, finds the exact letter or rule where the student stopped, and messages you afterwards with what they found. You get three trial classes before any payment. If it is not right, nothing is owed.
