Quran Teacher Kyrgyzstan

We teach Quran across Kyrgyzstan through live private video lessons. Families in Bishkek, Osh, Jalal Abad, Karakol, Naryn and Tokmok study reading, tajweed, memorization and meaning five days a week. Every student is paired with one Hafiz or Hafiza who teaches only them. The first lesson is free.

Quran learning in Kyrgyzstan today

Around 90 percent of the country is Muslim and follows the Hanafi school. Nearly every mosque in Bishkek was built after 1991, because the Soviet state did not allow them.

The Imam Sarakhsi Central Mosque, opened in 2018, holds up to 30,000 worshippers and is among the largest in Central Asia. It is named after an eleventh century scholar who wrote al Mabsut, a foundation text of the Hanafi school. Kyrgyzstan Islamic University, on Gogol Street in the capital, teaches theology, sharia and Arabic philology under the Spiritual Administration of Muslims.

Kyrgyz reciters compete at the highest level. Mukhamadali kary Umarov placed first at the International Quran Recitation Competition in Jeddah in March, ahead of entrants from the United States, Egypt, Syria and Sweden. Around 10,000 applied and 64 reached the final.

What is missing is daily access outside the two main cities. A family in Naryn or Batken cannot reach a qualified teacher every weekday, and a shopkeeper in Karakol cannot sit in a madrasa class at midday. That is the gap these lessons close.

Many adults here begin at the first letter

Religious schools were closed for seventy years. Many Kyrgyz parents were never taught to read Arabic script, and they now want their children to learn what they could not.

Tell us if this describes you. Parents and children often study one after the other in the same hour, and an adult starting at the alphabet is normal here. No student is compared to anyone else.

Class times

Kyrgyzstan runs on UTC plus 6. Our teachers sit in Lahore, one hour behind Bishkek. Check this against any other academy you consider, because it decides what you can actually book.

A 5:00 p.m. lesson in Bishkek is 4:00 p.m. for your teacher. An 8:00 p.m. lesson in Osh is 7:00 p.m. on our side. After Fajr works just as easily. Almost any hour you want falls inside a normal working day for us, so we can hold the same slot with the same teacher every day instead of moving you around.

Academies working from Egypt or the Gulf are three to four hours behind Bishkek. Their evening availability is thinner than ours.

Courses

Noorani Qaida

Arabic letters, their sounds and how they join. Where a child or an adult starts when the script is new.

Nazra Quran reading

Reading straight from the Mushaf with correct pronunciation once the letters are secure.

Recitation with tajweed

Taught in the riwaya of Hafs an Asim, the recitation used in Kyrgyzstan and throughout the Hanafi world. Students work on makharij, on qalqalah, and on letter pairs that blur easily, such as ض and ظ.

Hifz

Memorization built on short daily portions and a fixed revision cycle, beginning with Juz 30 and the short surahs.

Tarjuma and tafseer

Meaning of the ayat, verse by verse, for students who already read fluently.

Arabic and Islamic studies. Grammar, vocabulary and the basics of salah, wudu and akhlaq.

Female teachers for sisters and girls

Hafiza teachers are available and you can ask for one when you book. The lesson is private. Nobody else is in the room, the camera can stay off, and timing fits around the household.

Male teachers

Male teachers are available on the same terms. Tell us which you prefer at booking and we match you before the trial.

What one to one changes

In a group a weak letter goes unheard. In a private lesson the teacher hears every sound the student makes and corrects it at once. Pace follows the student, so a child who needs three weeks on one page gets them, and a quick learner is not held back.

Every teacher has memorized the Quran in full and teaches in the riwaya of Hafs an Asim. We employ qualified male and female instructors with years of online teaching behind them.

Language

Lessons are given in English and Urdu. Recitation needs no translation, since pronunciation is taught by listening and repeating. If your child studies English at school, lessons will be straightforward. If you need help arranging the schedule in Russian, say so when you write.

Monthly fee

Classes are 30 US dollars a month for 20 lessons of 30 minutes, Monday to Friday. That is about 1.50 dollars per private lesson, and families enrolling more than one child pay less per child. Full details are on our monthly fee page.
