Quran Teacher Palau

Families anywhere in Palau can study with a qualified Quran teacher over live video. Classes run one to one for 30 minutes a day, Monday to Friday, and cost USD 30 per month for 20 classes. Palau uses the US dollar, so that is the exact amount you pay. You get three free trial classes before you pay anything.

You keep the same teacher every week. A parent may sit in on any lesson, at any time, without asking first.

Palau has no Quran school. A small mosque in Koror serves the community, and most Muslim residents are workers from Bangladesh, according to the US Department of State. For a child in Meyuns or an adult in Ngetkib, learning at home over video is the only steady option.

How online Quran learning works from Palau

Lessons run on Zoom or Google Meet. You need a phone, tablet or laptop and a normal home connection. If the signal drops, video switches off and the lesson carries on by voice.

Palau keeps one time zone, UTC+9, and never changes clocks for daylight saving. Our teachers work from Lahore, four hours behind. A 5pm lesson in Koror falls at 1pm in Lahore, and a 7pm lesson falls at 3pm. Evening slots in Palau land in the middle of the teaching day here, so they are easy to fill and rarely cancelled. Early morning slots before school are harder to staff, so book those ahead.

Classes are taught in English. Palau is bilingual, with English and Palauan both official, so most learners are comfortable studying this way. Urdu and Arabic are available on request. We do not currently teach in Bengali.

Miss a lesson and we reschedule it as a make up class when you ask.

Who these live Quran classes are for

Children: Most start between ages five and eleven. A child in Koror can take a lesson after school and still finish before Maghrib. Parents watch as often as they like.

Adults and beginners: Many adults can sound out letters but were never corrected properly. Private lessons remove the embarrassment of that. New Muslims start from the alphabet with nothing assumed.

Women and girls: A female Quran teacher can be requested at signup. She teaches one to one. There is no group class and no male student present. Male teachers are available on the same terms for those who prefer one.

What you learn

Every student follows four stages and can join at any point.

Noorani Qaida

 Letters, sounds and joining. Here we fix the sounds English speakers find hardest, such as ع, ح and ق, and the pairs children mix up like ب, ت and ث. Most children finish Qaida in six to nine months. Younger learners follow our Qaida course built for kids and adults.

Quran reading

 Reading from the mushaf with correct pronunciation. We work on Makharij, the points in the mouth and throat where each letter is formed.

Quran with Tajweed

 The rules applied while reciting, including Ghunnah, Qalqalah, the types of Madd, and the rules of Noon Sakinah and Meem Sakinah. Rules come after the ear can hear the difference, not before.

Hifz

Memorisation with a fixed revision routine. Students usually begin with Juz Amma and the surahs used daily in salah, such as Al Fatihah, Al Ikhlas and An Nas.

Our teachers recite and teach in Hafs an Asim. Tarjuma, Tafseer and Urdu run as separate courses.

Your teacher

Every teacher is a certified Hafiz or Hafiza. Both men and women teach. All are qualified tutors based at our online Quran academy in Lahore, which has taught online since 2020 and has students in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and Australia.

Three things we commit to. You get the same teacher every lesson, not a rotating pool. A parent is welcome in any lesson, announced or not. If the teacher is not the right fit, we change them once you ask, at no cost, and your progress notes move with you.

Affordable Quran classes and fees

USD 30 a month covers 20 classes of 30 minutes, one to one. Lessons can run to 40 minutes in some cases. There is no registration fee, no book fee and no charge for the three trial classes. Weekend slots cost the same as weekday slots. Our refund policy is published in full.

Payment is taken by Western Union. Tell us at signup that you are in Palau and we will send exact steps before your first paid month starts.

Learning Quran across Palau

About 12,676 people live in Koror, the commercial centre of the country. Most Muslim families live there or on Ngerekebesang Island, reached by the causeway past Belau National Hospital in Meyuns.

We teach students in every state, including Koror, Airai, Melekeok, Aimeliik, Ngatpang, Ngchesar, Peleliu, Angaur and Kayangel. Distance changes nothing. A student in Ngerulmud or on Peleliu gets the same teacher and the same 30 minutes as one living beside the WCTC Shopping Center.

School shapes the evening for most families. Palau High School in Koror is the country’s only public high school, opened in 1962. Tell us your child’s finish time and we book around it.
