Valentine's Day or Gateway to hell

Understanding the Popular Appeal

Many people approach Valentine’s Day as a celebration of love, shaped by alternative views that encourage expressing affection for spouses within accepted morals. These perspectives highlight the essence of love, arguing it is not inherently evil, and sometimes refer to historical or obscure Christian roots, spiritual analogy, and commentary that contrast selfish and selfless love, linking marital paths to personal growth. From my own experience, separating sincere emotion from social pressure takes awareness—something we try to teach practically through Our Courses, offered with a flexible Monthly fee and a Free trail so learning comes before commitment.

The Islamic Perspective on Imitation and Innovation

From an Islamic view, the concern begins with imitation of Non-Believers (Kuffar) by adopting non-Islamic customs, which is seen as impermissible and a form of Bid’ah. Valentine’s Day is viewed as having no basis in Islam, lacking religious foundation, unlike true Islamic celebrations. This imitation is believed to weaken faith and blur boundaries set by divine guidance.

Immorality, Materialism, and Hidden Harm

Critics also argue that the day promotes immorality, promiscuity, and materialism, shifting focus to worldly pleasure, earning money, and marketing pressure that becomes a burden on deeds. What appears as romance can turn sinful, immoral, and even a hellish personal experience, especially when driven by secular norms rather than faith and sound beliefs.

Modesty, Obscenity, and Disobedience

The issue deepens when immodest and obscene actions are generally performed, crossing limits of modesty and decency. Such behavior is believed to bring the wrath of Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ in this world and the hereafter, as people openly disobey the commands of His Beloved Rasool Muhammad صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ, chasing carnal desires for a few moments of satisfaction of the nafs.

Sharia Boundaries and Serious Warnings

According to Sharia, there are clear limits: unlawful gazing, relationships with stranger women, physical contact, holding hands, seclusion, and consumption of alcohol are all strictly prohibited. A powerful Hadith even states that a metal nail piercing the head is better than unlawful contact, emphasizing the seriousness of these sins.

Reflection, Accountability, and the Afterlife

Remember, the temporary pleasure will end, but the sin will remain in the book of deed, risking one’s afterlife, polluting society, and harming both worlds. This reality calls Muslims—especially youth—to pause, contemplate, and avoid following harmful trends through unlawful means.

Choosing a Higher Path

Islam calls believers to abandon such practices with a firm intention, refraining from sin, and drawing closer to Allah through abstinence, righteousness, and piety. By doing so, one can tread a path that pleases Allah, protect personal dignity, and live a more prosperous and meaningful life. اٰمِیْن بِجَاہِ النَّبِیِّ الْاَمِیْن
